I don’t really like wordpress much. The free version especially.
My old abandoned blog was at blogger and I think I prefer blogger.

I write for a few blogs (freelance work) and use the paid versions of wordpress so I guess its okay then. But for my own blog, there isn’t too many things you can do with wordpress, especially with templates. Or maybe I just don’t know enough yet.
I have been considering getting my own domain for a while now so I might do that but in the meanwhile, before I invest more into this blog, I am seriously considering going back to blogger. Someone called Catharin822 has already taken legallyalien.blogspot.com for herself. Even though she doesn’t use it. I’ve registered legally-alien.blogspot.com. I am yet to make up my mind about whether I should start blogging on blogger or head straight to my own domain. Or maybe just stick to wordpress? Anyway, I’ll keep you updated.
If anyone has any opinions I’d like to know please?

Hmm…I use blogger because I’m technically challenged and had a hard time figuring WP out. I find blogger easier to use. However, there are WP templates I really like and wish I could use. Having said that, there’s geniuses out there converting WP to blogger themes. I think one good thing about blogger is the ‘followers’ widget which is great because now, even if I change my templates, I don’t lose all the blogs I read.
WordPress is nice, but I agree, Blogger is much easier to use. Most professional blogs have a wordpress base I have noticed but for a free blogging service, I think Blogger might be better. I also like that you can use Adsense on Blogger. Again, you need to upgrade to use it on WordPress.
@Psych: WP themes are really nice, but you usually have to upgrade to a paid service to use some of the nicer themes.
Lets see, I might upgrade and get my legallyalien.com while its still available or just go back to good old blogger.

Ah ok…well, change it to blogger then. You can import your posts so that shouldn’t be an issue I guess. And if you are a computer genius, you can redirect people to your new blog through this one. I have seen some blogs have that but would have no clue how to do it myself!
Blogger is LOADS easier to use…and I speak from experience with both platforms. It probably depends on what you want to do with your page, really- I had a bitch of a time trying to navigate around zonuts initially since it was a multiple-contributor blog and I wasn’t familiar with wordpress, but Blogger is comparatively fuss-free given that it’s also linked to gmail. And it’s easy to personalise your page, too. Though I may be biased- I’m a longtime LJ junkie, and typepad has given me lots of awesome blogs to get addicted to, but most wordpress blog content is pretty amateurish in comparison.
But yeah, if you want your own domain you should probably save it soon.
Yup. I think I’m going to go the blogger way. Domain name will probably be bought soon but I don’t have the time to set up a website right away so that can wait a bit. Thanks
